Awarded<\/em>:<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Innovative Teaching Award, Laura Woodward, VCA, College of the Arts, University of Melbourne<\/strong><\/p>\n Laura Woodward receives the Innovative Teaching award in recognition of her outstanding work as an emerging visual art academic. In the Calling Percy: encountering Granger through engineering and sculptural practice<\/em> project, culminating in a major exhibition at the Ian Potter Museum of Art in October 2016, Woodward worked with students to develop work that exceeded their expectations, expanding the students\u2019 understanding of artmaking as well modeling productive methods of working with institutions, other stakeholders and other academic disciplines. The translation of Woodward\u2019s practice-led research into innovative teaching projects is also to be commended.<\/p>\n Innovative Research Award, Robert Wellington, Centre for Art History & Art Theory ANU School of Art & Design <\/strong><\/p>\n The Innovative Research Award is awarded to Robert Wellington, in recognition of his incredible work as an emerging researcher. Since the conferral of his PhD in 2014, Wellington\u2019s research outputs have included a single-author monograph, six peer-reviewed journal articles, two scholarly book chapters, and three book\/exhibition reviews, as well as 18 papers at national and international conferences and events, public lectures, convening\/chairing conferences, panels and other events in Australia and overseas. Earlier this year, Wellington engaged the general public with his research, in an article and radio interviews addressing comparisons made between the interior d\u00e9cor of Donald Trump\u2019s private residences and the Palace of Versaille, amidst much public speculation about the changes Trump might make to the interior of the White House.<\/p>\n Distinguished Teaching Award, A\/Prof Lisa Scharoun and A\/Prof Carlos Montana Hoyos, University of Canberra<\/strong><\/p>\n The Distinguished Teaching Award is jointly awarded to Lisa Scharoun and Carlos Montana Hoyos. Both are passionate and dedicated teachers individually, and make an unstoppable teaching team. They have shown remarkable initiative and have made a significant contribution to program-based and interdisciplinary teaching and learning and internationalisation in Arts and Design education. These \u2018citizens of the world\u2019 have imbued a sense of the global in colleagues and students, particularly through the \u201cInspired by\u201d study tour program initiated by Scharoun in 2012, which the pair have expanded to include other disciplines and institutions, with impressive outcomes for students, innovative and high-profile projects, and industry involvement.<\/p>\n Lifelong Fellowship Award, Graham Forsyth, UNSW Art & Design<\/strong><\/p>\n Graham Forsyth has made a major contribution to learning and teaching in the art and design education sector, including in the role that he has held since 2003, Associate Dean (Academic) at UNSW Art & Design, and prior to this at both UNSW and Sydney College of the Arts. Forsyth has been an exemplary academic, and active in the sector, developing innovative curriculum models, student support initiatives, international and interdisciplinary conferences, national forums on studio teaching, and significant research projects.
