Job Opportunity: Head of Sculpture, National Art School

The National Art School (NAS) is Australia’s longest standing visual arts school, acknowledged nationally and internationally as a centre of excellence for the provision of higher education, artistic practice and scholarship. NAS is an independent Higher Education Provider offering a range of accredited degree courses that embody the School’s education emphasis upon studio-based learning and critical enquiry under the guidance of experienced artsists and educators.

The Head of Sculpture is responsible for the development and coordination of the Sculpture programs and curricula at the National Art School.

Overview of the role

  • Provides academic leadership and overall management of the Sculpture department including the line management of departmental staff, studios and related learning & teaching resources.
  • Planning, development and oversight of departmental facilities and resources including departmental budgets.
  • Development and coordination of subject specific course curriculum within the context of the National Art School’s accredited course requirements.
  • Make original and innovative contributions to the advancement of scholarship, research and teaching in their discipline.
